Is the thicker the TUV PV solar cable, the better?

Because the repeated bending performance and strength of the solar cable stranded wire are better than that of a single conductor, the stranded wire is widely used in overhead lines, large cross-section power cables and home decoration laying. In the past, home decoration wiring mostly used a single solid hard conductor, mainly because of the price. Slightly lower than the multi-strand wire, the wiring is convenient and not easy to loosen. For the connection of 7-stranded wires, plug-in winding method can be used, but for 19-strands and 49-strands or more, only external winding method can be used. The wiring is quite troublesome. Electrician practitioners or those who have received wires know that multi-strand wires such as BVR wires must be tinned after they are connected, otherwise the joints are easy to oxidize and loosen.

In terms of electrical performance, such as solar cable "conductor resistance", "skin effect" and "current carrying capacity" indicators, I would like to say that there is not much difference between a single conductor and a stranded conductor in home furnishing. The skin effect is not obvious in power frequency AC, but if the cross section is large, the skin effect needs to be considered. For example, the steel core aluminum stranded wire used for high-voltage transmission lines, the center of which is the steel core wire does not affect the current flow in the outer aluminum conductor; The conductor resistance is not much different, but the stranded wire is after all twisted by multiple single wires. There is contact resistance when there is a gap between the single wires. Therefore, the conductor resistance of the stranded wire of the same cross-section of the solar cable is slightly larger than that of a single conductor; the current carrying capacity is not different. Large, but the heat dissipation of the stranded wire is better than that of a single conductor, so the current carrying capacity is slightly more than that of a single conductor.
